5 New Shows Expected to Bring a Lot of Entertainment

If you have completed shows on your watchlist or you want to discover new shows, you are in luck. Because many amazing shows are on their way to make your weekends fun and exciting. There are familiar shows returning for another season while there are some completely new shows to discover.

A quick disclaimer before beginning: the shows on this list are not of one streaming platform or cable channel alone. Still, if you have a generous data plan like Spectrum WiFi and a subscription to a popular streaming service, you are likely to find something worth adding to your watchlist.

Without any further delay, here are some exciting shows you can plan on watching:

The Crown  – Season 5

For fans of dramas with historical references, The Crown is one of the shows that are definitely worth checking out. It is a drama with a storyline around the life and events of the late Queen Elizabeth. Trying to keep the spoilers to the minimum, but the first season includes events from 1947 when Lizzie got married to Prince Phillip. The series follows the chronological events of the Queen’s life.

Diana is going to be a part of season 5. So, there’s a lot of hype behind it. It has recently come out. A good thing about streaming this show is that you have enough content to binge before finally getting to season 5. You can stream this show on Netflix.

Star Wars: The Mandalorian

Star Wars: The Mandalorian

2023 is going to be packed with Star Wars action. Consider getting yourself a Disney+ subscription because baby Yoda and the Mandalorian are coming back with this show. It is going to be season three of the series and is one of the shows that Star Wars stans have loved. Cute baby Yoda memes have even got the interest of non-Star Wars fans as the younger version of wise and strong Yoda has been a breath of fresh air for viewers.

The Last of Us

The Last of Us is an upcoming show based on the popular video of the same name that came out in 2013. Even after almost a decade, the game is still considered one of the best in the zombie apocalypse genre. Now the show is going to follow a similar storyline and is expected to be filled with gore, blood, and loads of action.

Yoda’s dad in the shiny armor from Mandalorian actor Pedro Pascal is in the star cast. Also, Craig Mazin of HBO’s hit Chornobyl is working on the project. As for the storyline, Pedro Pascal, Joel, is given the assignment of smuggling a 14-year-old girl to safety outside the US. Bella Ramsey, Ellie, is the 14-year-old in the storyline.

It is going to be HBO’s first attempt at creating a show based on a video game. Plus, the creators of the show include the real creators and composers who worked on the game. So, it is expected to closely follow the game’s plot. The release date of the show is not announced yet. In the meantime, you can enjoy The Last of Us game.

Star Trek: Lower Decks

Star Trek: Lower Decks

Don’t wanna watch The Mandalorian? Fine. Watch another sci-fi space show from the Star Trek franchise. But Star Trek: Lower Decks is not something you would expect from the franchise if you have watched the OG films. It is more of an animated side adventure of one of the Starfleet ships U.S.S Cerritos. The crazy adventures of the crew and their encounters with sci-fi troubles make the series a good way to end an exhausting day.

This show is on Paramount Plus and the upcoming season is going to be the third one. So, there is plenty of animated space action you can enjoy in the meantime by streaming the first two seasons.

Another fun animated series from the same franchise is Star Trek: Prodigy. Its second season is also coming soon. If you watch and like either of the series, you will probably enjoy the other one too.

The Witcher: Blood Origin

People have loved The Witcher video game and the series starring Henry Cavil as Geralt of Rivia. Recently, the fans have been quite dishearted by the news of Henry Cavil not playing the role he did so much justice to. Liam Hemsworth will be the new Witcher.

The Witcher: Blood Origin is a series from the franchise set in a completely different timeline from 1200 years ago. It’s a prequel and the story of the first Witcher. If you have loved the game or the series, this show is worth waiting for. Like The Crown, The Witcher is another show you can enjoy on Netflix.
