The Kick-Off Begins For Baltimore Fashion Week

Baltimore Fashion Week will kick off in two days, and the producers are beyond excited. Baltimore Fashion Week will celebrate two seasons this year 2020, and 2021. The Delta Marriott Hotels in Hunt Valley will host this season’s runway shows.

This 2021 production of Baltimore Fashion Week includes a tour on Thursday, August 26, 2021, at one of Baltimore’s oldest garment manufacturing firms in the heart of Washington Village (also known to Baltimoreans as “Pigtown”), Fashions Unlimited, Inc.

Fashions Unlimited, Inc. has opened its garment manufacturing doors this year to host fashionpreneurs who will receive an in-person experience at the only remaining factory from Baltimore’s original garment industry.  Fashions Unlimited, Inc. has created apparel for Hanes, Adidas, Liz Claiborne, and Diane von Furstenburg.

Saturday, August 28, 2021, collections hit the runway by designers Damien Lee, Anna Goetter, and Denise Robinett.  Denise Robinett won the “From Flat To Finish” contest hosted by the Fashion Umbrella Foundation in 2019.  Closing out the show will be a mini-showcase of models presenting their style talents in the segment “STYLED.”

Forgiveness Plan Would Remove One-Third of Students’ Loan Debt

About one in three Idahoans who have federal student-loan debt would see it erased entirely if the Biden administration goes forward with a $10,000 forgiveness plan. That’s according to analysis from the website Student Loan Hero . President Joe Biden is considering eliminating the debt through executive order. Andrew Pentis, a senior writer and certified student loan counselor at Student Loan Hero, said the average monthly loan repayment in Idaho is $274. “Whether you have more or less than $10,000 worth of student loans left to repay, this dose of forgiveness would be hugely helpful, in either getting rid of your debt or shrinking it considerably,” said Pentis. “So certainly, if you’re a borrower in Idaho, you’d be rooting for something like this to happen.” The Trump administration paused federal student loan repayments in March 2020 during the pandemic.
